It is a chance to connect with others who understand what you are going through. Classes run in over 40 locations nationwide, and we also hold online classes for in-depth advice and support.

Sweet Louise support includes regular one-to-one contact with a local support coordinator; access to a wide range of information and resources; and social support through meetings with others with advanced breast cancer, and an active online support group. We also provide emergency vouchers for essentials like food and for petrol to get to hospital visits, and vouchers for complementary therapies and initiatives such as family trips.

Membership is free and open to anyone diagnosed with advanced breast cancer.

Aroha Mai Cancer Support Services is a voluntary team which aims to support cancer patients and their whānau/families in Rotorua through a number of services. Being qualified in Aromatherapy for over 35 years, the Aromaflex shop has been in Nelson for 28 years. The owner, Shelley is a breast cancer warrior having 4 mastectomies. First double in 2019 with reconstruction with Roz Pochin and Chris Adams. Aromatherapy formulations have been created to help herself and others with great results over the years. A new radiation blend is in trial, also with great results. A research paper will be started this year, as Shelley documents a client with breast cancer. BRA Day is an internationally recognised day dedicated to the education and awareness of breast reconstruction after breast cancer surgery. Breast Cancer Foundation NZ partner with the specialist team of surgeons and nurses from Counties Manukau and Hutt Valley Regions to host an event highlighting options for reconstruction, different surgeries and the best timing for these, as well as what to expect from your recovery. BCAC is run by breast cancer survivors, and represents more than 30 breast cancer-related groups as well as individual members. We have used our experiences to develop the Step by Step support pack. This free pack provides resources, information and advice to those newly diagnosed with breast cancer. BCAC is also able to help women navigate the health system and provide information or assistance when needed.

We provide support for all people with a diagnosis of breast cancer either newly diagnosed, in remission, or with secondary cancer. We do this via support groups, one-to-one contact (usually by phone, online, or in person by arrangement), and a free help line available 365 days a year.

We support and empower women on their journey with breast cancer through our shared experience, respecting our cultural diversity and honouring each other’s unique identity.

When ladies are first diagnosed with breast cancer, one of our specially trained volunteers will contact them and support them through their journey. We also run fortnightly coffee groups, subsidised pilate classes, and have a Facebook page with all our up-to-date happenings, specifically for those who have or have had a breast cancer diagnosis to connect and support each other.
