How you can help

Volunteer opportunities

Breast Cancer Foundation NZ could not carry out the work it does across the country without its amazing volunteers.

We’re a small but passionate team based in Auckland with a huge job to do. Our mission is to push for new frontiers in early detection, treatment and support. Our volunteers often tell us that they have been touched by breast cancer in some way, whether it’s personally or because they have helped a friend or loved one fight the disease. This is what motivates them, and us, to get involved.

Volunteering offers a wonderful opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and support a worthy cause while having fun and making a difference with volunteering opportunities all year round.

We appreciate your interest in volunteering for BCFNZ.

Pink Star Walk in your city

We couldn’t hold The Pink Star Walk without the enthusiastic support of volunteers so if walking isn’t for you why not volunteer instead? There are a number of ways you can volunteer before the event by helping in our Auckland office, putting together walker packs in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch or spreading the word by putting up posters and flyers in your local area. We also need volunteers on the night to help with registration, marshalling and of course a cheer squad. Tell us how you’d like to help when you volunteer for the Pink Star Walk.

Street Appeal – volunteer & area coordinators

Become an Area Coordinator for the Pink Ribbon Street Appeal 2018
As an area coordinator you will oversee multiple Street Appeal sites in your area on the appeal days, manage a small team of volunteers, receive and distribute stock to volunteers, trouble shoot on the day if any issues arise and bank the donated funds. We provide everything that is required to run the area including a detailed brief beforehand, registered volunteers and their contact details, stock, banking materials and site permits. This appeal would not be possible without the help of our fabulous area coordinators.

Give 2 hours to The Pink Ribbon Street Appeal 2018
We need general collectors in your area in October 2018. Join around 9000 other volunteers when we hit the streets for two days every October. Get your friends, family and colleagues together and Give Hope, Give Life. The 2018 Pink Ribbon Street Appeal is on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th of October.

Help out at the NZ House & Garden Tours

Breast Cancer Foundation NZ is the chosen charity for the NZ House & Garden Tours that take place around the country between February - April. Proceeds from the ticket sales go to Breast Cancer Foundation NZ to fund support services and research. Each year, the tours are held in 5 different areas around the country. Check back later this year to see if your hometown is next!

This year's tours were a huge success - Thank you to everyone who took part!

If you would like to be involved in the 2019 NZ House & Garden Tours sign up to volunteer or email our volunteer team at volunteer@bcf.org.nz.

Assisting in our Auckland Office year round: We always need help in our office in Parnell. It might be working with our fundraising team, assisting our educators, collating material or just sorting products, the list will change every day.

Whether you have a whole day to spare or just a few hours, the Foundation welcomes your contribution – the amount of time you give is up to you.
