Where to next?

When you are first diagnosed with breast cancer, it can be very overwhelming.

We've put together a list of questions to help you understand the best next steps for you.

  1. What type of breast cancer do I have?
  2. What does ER/PR+ and HER2+ mean?
  3. What are my treatment options?
  4. Will I lose my hair?
  5. If you are recommended breast cancer surgery, you may like to ask these questions.
  6. Should I be thinking about clinical trials?
  7. How do I get in contact with other people who have had cancer?
  8. I'm having an emotional overload, who can I speak to?
  9. I've read through all this but still have questions! Speak to our breast nurse specialists to answer your questions.
  10. I'm a man diagnosed with breast cancer, where can I find information that applies to me?

Let us know if you, your friend or whānau, are newly diagnosed by emailing breastnurse@bcf.org.nz. We can send you a new patient bag of resources to support you at this stage of your journey.
