Terms of use for BCFNZ website

  1. Website content is available for personal use only.
  2. All trade marks are protected from commercial use by third parties.
  3. All trade marks, copyrighted materials, images of people or places appearing on this website are either the property of, or used with permission by BCFNZ. The use of these images by you or anyone else authorised by you, is prohibited unless specifically permitted by these Terms and Conditions or specific permission is provided elsewhere on the site.
  4. By accessing and browsing this site you give your consent to the privacy policy and these terms and conditions of use. If you do not agree to this policy please do not use the website.
  5. We reserve the right at our discretion, to change, modify, add or remove portions of these terms and conditions, the privacy policy and the website at any time. Please check these terms and conditions, the privacy policy and the website periodically for changes. Continued use of this site after any changes will mean you accept those changes.
  6. While the Company uses reasonable efforts to include accurate and up to date information in the site, BCFNZ makes no warranties or representations as to its accuracy. The Company assumes no liability or responsibility for any errors or omissions in the content of the site.
  7. BCFNZ and its associated companies take no responsibility for the down loading of software from this site or from any linked sites.
  8. The sites linked to this website are beyond the control of the Company. ​Terms of use of BCFNZ funded support services

  • Funds to access BCFNZ support services require approval by BCFNZ.
  • By applying for and using BCFNZ funding you are agreeing to our terms and conditions
  • You can start this process by applying on the BCFNZ website.
  • Our nursing team may ask for additional information to ensure the service is appropriate for you.
  • You may also be asked for a referral from your GP, Breast Nurse or Specialist.
  • Our nurses will confirm approval by email.
  • Approved funds will be linked to our BCFNZ prepaid card also known as your Pink Ribbon Card or a voucher with a unique identifier.
  • Approved funds for BCFNZ services will be for a nominal amount. Funds can be used for full or part payment.
  • Funds can only be used for the service specified
  • Any funds that have been credited to your Pink Ribbon Card, but not used within a 6 months period, will be automatically removed from your card. Vouchers have a one year expiry date. You will receive a email to remind you when the funding period will expire.
  • Your Pink Ribbon card belongs to you, please hold on to it even when you have used your funds. When you are approved for a new service we can apply the funds directly to your card.
  • If you lose the card let us know as soon as possible. We will issue a new card and transfer any remaining funds on to it.
  • Our Pink Ribbon Cards are supplied by Tranxactor and as such are covered by Tranxactor terms and conditions.
  • Funds are approved for a specific person and when redeeming them you may be asked for ID.
  • To help you get care as close to home as possible we have provide a list of health professionals, across the country who provide the services you require. You will find this list on our support services webpage. We have checked that these providers are happy to take payment using your Pink Ribbon Card and BCFNZ vouchers. This list may change from time to time so please check again when you book.
  • Providers of BCFNZ support services are all registered health professionals and are expected to provide high quality care. If you have a problem with the service you are receiving you should address this with the clinic you are attending. BCFNZs role is in facilitating your access to this service and as such we are not liable for any failure to provide that service to the expected standard.
  • If you have would like support to change health professionals or clinics at any time please let us know.
  • If you have questions, concerns or complaints about the Pink Ribbon Cards, the vouchers or the approval process you are able to call us at the Breast Cancer Foundation to discuss this.

Pink Ribbon Walk Rules and Terms

As a condition of entry to the Pink Ribbon Walk, you agree that you are participating in the Pink Ribbon Walk entirely at your own risk. You agree that you will not participate in the Pink Ribbon Walk unless you are in good health on the day of the event. You acknowledge that all persons directly or indirectly involved in organising the Pink Ribbon Walk are not liable for any loss or damage suffered by you or others relating to you in the Pink Ribbon Walk (whether as a result of negligence or otherwise). You agree to indemnify the sponsors, beneficiary, the organisers, venues and all officials against any and all claims arising from your participation in the Pink Ribbon Walk.

You agree that all information provided in the registration is truthful and correct.

  1. You agree that prior to beginning training for the Pink Ribbon Walk you have sought medical advice if you have a medical condition that may require attention.
  2. Roads will still be open to traffic; please remain on the designated route, keep to the footpaths and cross in the designated places where official marshals will be present.
  3. Walkers must always obey traffic laws and regulations. Please listen to marshals and officials if further instructions are given.
  4. Everyone who takes part must arrive at the stated start time to hear the safety briefing. Anyone who misses the safety briefing will not be allowed to walk.
  5. Be courteous to all fellow walkers.
  6. The use of your name and image in photographs and on video may be used in any publication or marketing by Breast Cancer Foundation NZ and our sponsors.
  7. Any walker asked to leave the Pink Ribbon Walk will not be entitled to a refund of their ticket.
  8. If the Pink Ribbon Walk has to be cancelled or postponed for reasons beyond control of Breast Cancer Foundation NZ you will not be entitled to a refund of your tickets or claim for any loss whatsoever.

Health and Safety

For your safety: wear suitable light coloured clothing that is bright; wear suitable fully enclosed footwear, know the route, bring a filled drink bottle.

During the walk: stay on the footpaths, treat all roads as open, cross at designated points, listen to walk volunteers instructions, ask for help if required.

    Terms of use for BCFNZ volunteer portal

    To complete your volunteer registration, you will need to register or create an account (Registered Individual) on the volunteer portal (Portal) for the event of your choosing (Event). Please note that BCFNZ may decline to approve or may terminate your registration at any time, entirely in its discretion.

    These Terms govern your access to and use of the Portal and your participation in the Event. Please read them carefully and contact us if you have any questions. By accessing and using the Portal, and participating in the Event, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by these Terms.

    In these Terms:
    BCFNZ Privacy Policy means the privacy policy available at www.breastcancerfoundation.org.nz/privacy-policy (as updated from time to time).
    Registered Individual means a volunteer who applies and is approved by BCFNZ.
    Terms means these Terms and Conditions, the BCFNZ Privacy Policy and any other policies and guidelines related to the Event provided or notified to you by or on behalf of BCFNZ (as updated by BCFNZ from time to time).

    1. Portal Use
      When you register to use the Portal and at all times during your use of the Portal, you must provide us with accurate, up to date and complete information that is not misleading. Any user name and password that you are provided with or use to access the Portal is unique to you and you agree not to transfer it to or share it with any third party. You agree to keep it confidential and secure at all times. You must only use the Portal for the purposes of the Event. For example, if you are a Registered Individual you may use the Portal to: register yourself as a Registered Individual; schedule, change or cancel your shift or collection site; and register a friend as a Registered Individual for a shift at your collection site (or change or cancel that shift) (if you do so, you confirm that they have authorised you to do so on their behalf and that they have agreed to the Terms).
    2. Portal Security
      BCFNZ has taken all practicable steps to ensure that the information you transmit to us over the Portal is secure. However, BCFNZ does not warrant or guarantee the security of the Portal, nor that it will function without error or interruption. We care about the security of our volunteers and you must notify us promptly about any compromise to or unauthorised use of your account. You agree not to violate or attempt to violate the security of the Portal. If you discover any potential security vulnerabilities in the Portal or our website you must disclose it to us in a responsible manner. Please share the details of any suspected vulnerabilities with us promptly, by using the contact details set out on our website.
    3. Health and Safety
      You acknowledge and agree to comply with the Health and Safety Guidelines which BCFNZ provides for the Event. The Registered Individual will take reasonable care: for their own health and safety; and that their acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others. The Registered Individual must promptly inform BCFNZ if they think the work/processes/individuals/equipment are putting anyone’s health or safety at risk. The Registered Individual must report any hazards identified, accidents or incidents to BCFNZ as soon as possible after becoming aware of the hazard, accident or incident. You must follow any instructions given to you by BCFNZ.
    4. Privacy policy and personal information
      You agree that BCFNZ may collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020, this clause 6 and our privacy policy available at www.breastcancerfoundation.org.nz/privacy-policy (BCFNZ Privacy Policy).  We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time and any changes will automatically apply to all personal information that we hold.  We will notify you by email of any material changes. BCFNZ may use your personal information for the purpose of administering the Event, including to contact you with relevant information regarding the Event, for example, health and safety information. When you register, you may also ‘opt in’ to receive ongoing communications from BCFNZ. If you opt in, you can unsubscribe by clicking on the link in any future email you receive from BCFNZ. If you do not opt-in to ongoing communications from BCFNZ, you will only receive communications related to the Event. BCFNZ may disclose your personal information to the extent necessary to carry out the Event. This may include sharing your contact details (such as your name, email, and phone number) with Stuff Events (for the purpose of the Event), the homeowner and your house supervisor. You are entitled to access and request correction of your personal information that BCFNZ holds in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (please refer to the BCFNZ Privacy Policy).
    5. Intellectual Property
      You will not use any BCFNZ logos to create advertising materials, notices or social media posts about BCFNZ or the Event without express written permission which BCFNZ either directly provides to you or permits and sets out on its social media channels. You may not represent BCFNZ other than for volunteering at your selected Event without express written permission from BCFNZ.
    6. Liability
      To the extent permitted by law, you release BCFNZ from any liability or claim you may have against BCFNZ, including for direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential loss, cost or damage of any kind that you may incur as a result of your participation in the Event.
    7. Termination and suspension
      BCFNZ may terminate or suspend your use of the Portal, any functionality provided through the Portal, or your specific account, at its discretion (with or without cause or notice). BCFNZ may also terminate or suspend your registration at any time, at its discretion, on notice to you. Following termination (or during any period of suspension) you must immediately cease representing BCFNZ and return all BCFNZ property to BCFNZ. Upon termination, all provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive termination.
