Support while taking hormone therapy
Hormone therapy for breast cancer is an effective, safe treatment which helps prevent cancer from returning. It is a daily pill, and it is usually prescribed for five to ten years.
Understanding your treatment is key to success and knowing how your medicine helps you in the long run can make all the difference.
You might have questions about beginning a long-term treatment, but you don’t have to figure it out on your own. With myHT Guide, you’ll get all the information and practical strategies you need to feel empowered and informed to take control of your treatment, helping you live life on your terms.

Information for healthcare professionals
Currently there are 17,000 people filling a script for hormone therapy in New Zealand. This is a large number of people and many will need additional support and information to self-manage their treatment.
When taken for the prescribed period, hormone therapy is effective in reducing risk of breast cancer recurrence and reducing mortality by about 30% to 40%. However, up to 50% of people prescribed hormone therapy for breast cancer do not complete treatment.
myHT Guide is a multi-modal intervention to help your patients stay on treatment long term.
