Public Lecture: The role of guidelines and standards in advanced cancer care - Wellington
Dr Cardoso, a world expert on advanced breast cancer (ABC), gave a free public lecture on the role of standards and guidelines in delivering best care in advanced cancer. She discussed how care can be both person-centred and population- / guideline-based.
Dr Fatima Cardoso is a passionate and authoritative voice in ABC care: she led the development of international ABC guidelines, and as founder and chair of the ABC Global Alliance has set a target and strategies to double the length of survival with advanced breast cancer by 2025. She has extensive knowledge of new treatments and directions. She is a director of the European Society of Medical Oncologists (ESMO).
