    Capital/Coast/Hutt Valley

    In Capital/Coast/Hutt Valley your donations help fund:

    • Research grants to:
      • The BCFNZ Ferrier Breast Cancer Research Programme to develop a therapeutic vaccine for breast cancer.
      • Dr Robert Weinkove's study, in partnership with the BCFNZ Ferrier Breast Cancer Research Progamme, to develop to develop new, more effective anti-HER2 vaccines to stop the cancer spreading.
      • Dr Ineke Meredith's study on how fat-derived skin cells can improve fat retention in breast reconstruction.
    • Te Rēhita Mate Ūtaetae, the Breast Cancer Foundation National Register, which tracks breast cancer rates, treatments and outcomes, providing insights for medical research.
    • Free individual or family counselling sessions for anyone who has ever been diagnosed with breast cancer.
    • PINC individual physio sessions to assist with recovery after surgery – up to four free sessions (eligibility criteria apply) in Carterton, Paraparaumu and Wellington.
    • Lymphoedema therapy for those who have been diagnosed with lymphoedema or who are at high risk, available in Wellington.
    • Regular web-based seminars for breast cancer patients who can attend via computer, tablet or phone from anywhere in the Wellington region. They can question members of the panel during the webinar, giving them access to expert advice they otherwise might not get.
    • An online community, mybc, that links patients and their families no matter where they are in New Zealand, and offers support, advice and encouragement.
