How an 11-year-old hosted

Visit Pink Ribbon Breakfast

11-year-old Lizzie invited her friends and family to her Pink Ribbon Breakfast to spend time with all the important women in her life.

How did she go about it? “There were 12 guests. I invited members of my family - mother, grandmother, sister, aunts and cousins,” says Lizzie.

“We had a shared afternoon tea, I made a speech, we ran a raffle and at the end I gave out goodie bags.”

What was the best thing about the occasion? “Spending time with all the women in my family for what is a really good cause,” she says. “Also, raising money and having fun.”

What advice would Lizzie give someone who is thinking of hosting for the first time? “Make sure you’re really well organised - that means you will be able to play it by ear a bit when the actual event is on. Decorations are great, as well as encouraging the guests to really get involved.”

Lizzie’s Top Tip:
Don’t leave the speech till the last minute!
