Hayley’s Story

At only 10 years old Hayley’s decision to raise money for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ came after her aunty was diagnosed with breast cancer last May.

Hayley decided that she wanted to help in some way - to do something that would make a difference for her aunty and also for all those affected by breast cancer here in New Zealand.

She decided that she would donate her hair to Freedom Wigs in order to raise money for the foundation. However, initially Hayley’s hair wasn’t long enough. She had to grow it for eight months to reach the right length, after which she didn’t hesitate to have it cut - all 14 inches!

Along with the payment from Freedom Wigs Hayley fundraised to reach an incredible $300.

Hayley’s determination to not only help her aunty but, to also support the wider community diagnosed with and affected by breast cancer is inspirational.

Thank you Hayley!
